Hello, This is where all of the Characters that make this game will have their profiles listed. This is so you can learn about the many different types of people in Urvaius. One of the primary goals of this game was to have good character development. We wanted to have the characters developed to a degree that they could be in a really good book or novel. We wanted them to come alive to you the player and tell their stories. If you have any feedback on the characters, please don't hesitate to contact me. . . . . __Ausrick

Prince Faramir Edwardson

Prince Faramir is the next in line to rule the Iron Hills. Some would jump at this prospect, but Lord Faramir's only desire is to best serve his father King Edward's wishes. He is a stern but kind-hearted man with a hint of wisdom hidden behind his unassuming manner, though he is not apt to show it for every-one to see. He usually assesses a situation quietly before jumping into it, hanging back and calculating all options. He is easily annoyed by more care-free individuals and worries about making public scenes or spectacles. He is logical and tries to hide his feelings whenever possible. He follows both the path of the Warrior, the Cleric, and the Mage, following the Klassient schools of magic.

Ander Eventine

Ander is Faramir's long time friend and a rather naive Paladin. He seeks adventure wherever it can be found and normally has a rather positive outlook on the world around him. He has a boyish innocence combined with a kind heart, yet a desire to do what is good and righteous in every situation. He only angers and becomes serious when he is faced with evil or witnessing some unjust and heinous act. The rest of the time he is pleasant, rather content, and for the most part excited. He tends to believe that there is a peaceful solution to every problem unless the problem consists of people who are totally corrupted by Evil. He is more willing to talk things out and negotiate than probably any other of his companions.

Galandroth Therblue

Galandroth is a warrior in King Edward's Garrison. He is a long time friend of Prince Faramir, though they have their moments. Galandroth cannot stop talking, and the subject of his discussions always come back eventually to what a gift to the Universe he is. Aside from all his pomp and ego, along with is incessant chattering, he is an extremely determined and ingenuitive. coming up with hair-brained schemes that are "crazy enough that they just might work" and finding ways to get his companions out of binds and staying on task once focused are Galandroth's specialties, along with bashing monsters with his flail or mace of course. He doesn't let things get in his way or stop him, though that can be just as bad as good. . .

Erdrick Edwardson

The middle brother to the Edwardson Bloodline, Erdrick is a loner with a disdain for politics and hob-knobbing. (a term used to mean shoulder rubbing, or butt-kissing). He would much rather spend his time on the battle field where one only has to prove their worth to his or her self. He is quite stout, and the tallest of the three brothers to boot. Because of his lack of pleasure with life in a kingly court, and his want for adventure and love of the great outdoors, He enrolled into the Iron Hills' Officer's Academy with his father's permission. He could of just had his Father appoint him to a position in the army, but he wanted to earn his way there, so that he would be worthy to hold the position. He didn't want to be just another rich kid who has things handed to him that he doesn't deserve, especially when that something is the control of the lives of other men and the safety of the kingdom. He has currently excelled in his tasks in the army, partly because of his stout constitution, and partly because of his strength as a warrior and specialty with axes, so that now he is the General in charge of the King's Northern Army.

Laura Rendiehl

Laura is the fiancé of King Ausrick the Usurper and is soon to become the queen of Garn. She is a down to brass tacks and take care of business kind of girl. She is very practical and always has a habit of reminding the party of their reasons for being where they're at. She has somewhat of a short temper based on her intolerance of dawdling and wasting time. The only characters that she doesn't grind against, surprisingly, are the Edwardson brothers and a few others. This is mainly due to their goal directed personalities, though sometimes she can do nothing but stand quietly in the presence of Faramir's deep somberness that he expresses at certain points in the story. This is simply because she doesn't know how to take him or how to react. When ever she feels uncomfortable in a social situation she usually clams up and internalizes her feelings. She isn't a very powerful character when you first get her in your party, but be assured that if you invest in building her up and finding her powerups, then she won't disappoint you as a team member.

Major skills: skills in which a character has roughly 8 progressions or more in. An average character has roughly 20 total progressions, receiving a new skill every other or every 3rd level. Minor skills are skills in which the character only half progresses, and the average character has two major's and one minor. Some skills, like Qontaic Magic, have up to 16 or more progressions.

Balance: Balance is to show the overall workings of a Character in a summary fashion of their combat ability. F is a character's Fighting score on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the best at melee attacking, defending, and all of that. M is for Magic, and the same principals apply. D is for Development, and displays either Early, Late, or Constant. This is the scale by which the character improves over levels. A character who is an "Early" bloomer, may gain levels really quickly and/or make significant gains by which they would be most powerful in relation to other characters early on in the game. Late is just the opposite, and Constant is relatively level and steady.

Personality: This is figured by the Meyer's Brigg's personality model. Basically, a person, or in this case, character, has 4 different areas to their personality. Each area has two poles. a person can either be way at one end, or the other, or near the middle. For this site. I don't delve into the characters' psyches enough to subjectively assign them values of exactly how extreme or moderate they are. I just tell their tendencies so that you can have a feeling of how the character may react in different situations. the following 8 possibilities are:

Introvert or Extrovert: An introvert does not feed off of the attention of others, and only communicates when there is something to say. awkward silence is not all that "awkward" to an introvert, but talking to strangers is.

an Extrovert feeds off of connections to other people. is out-going, talkative, initiates conversation, and "appears" to make a lot of friends or acquaintances.

Sensor or Intuitor: A Sensor must Sense or feel their environment. the 5 senses are the only way to get information. the idea of Novel Creation, and haven Ideas just "pop into one's head" or "my gut tells me we should go this way" are simply impossibilities to a Sensor. Faith is also a hard one. "Show me" and "How'd you come up with that" are statements and questions often asked by a Sensor. Nothing has ever just "Popped" into a sensor's head, they have to be directly derived from prior knowledge.

an Intuiter uses Intuition. though the actual process of gaining information and creating ideas is the same. an Intuiter is very natural and subconscious about it. Ideas just float here and there and come from nowhere, popping into one's head. The Intuiter makes the correct choice far more often than not, but they could never tell you why or how, they just "felt like it" or they "came up with an Idea" Innovation and Daydreaming follow the Intuiter everywhere they go. Gut feeling and Instinct are this person's most useful decision making skills.

Thinker or Feeler: The Thinker values physical outcome and goals far above peoples feelings. not saying that the Thinker doesn't have feelings or doesn't care about them. but feelings are always overlooked when weighing a problem or decision. they often never even enter into the equation! A thinker always rationalizes and uses logic to attack problems. though often times stepping on peoples toes without even realizing it. They are often at a loss as to why it seems so many people take rather faceless actions as personal attacks. Remember Spock from Star Trek? Yeah, he'd rank a 10 + on this side of the scale.

The Feeler is very in tune to peoples feelings, and often avoids hurting them at quite some costs to "cold hard logic"'s "efficientness." A feeler often wears their heart on their sleeve and can get it walked on like a doormat if they're not careful. If you try not to call in sick to work because you feel sorry for the individual that will be called out of bed on their day off to cover for you, or more importantly, are concerned and worry that they'll be so hacked at you for it that they'll never forgive you or take it out on you when you get back. you may be a feeler. Often times Feelers hold in all these feelings of anger, and they have a lot of them, at perceived wrongs and attacks, and then finally, when filling to the brim take out their emotional wrath on the next Thinker-social-clod that inadvertently injures them. The wrath of a feeler is something to avoid. an extreme feeler is so in tune with his or her emotions that they can Throw every hurtful and spiteful word at a person without thinking with such ferocity and skill that they can not only stab with words, but twist the emotional knife around once in the wound with ease. The only good thing for the poor Thinker when this happens, is that once a feeler vents, they usually can't stay mad for long and hope to come back and apologize. Feelers can best be thought of as people who are very emotional and in touch with their emotions and often let them aid, or cloud, their judgment, depending on what you are oriented to as you read this.

Judger or Perceiver: The Judger is quick to assess a situation and make up their mind on it. sometimes they will "miss perceive" or "jump to conclusions" and cause difficulties in a situation. Often the excuse for such would be "oh, I didn't realize." For all the negativity of this, the positive side is that a Judger is quick and decisive. They take initiative and action. Many people in today's "tolerant" society immediately label Judgers as intolerant and Judgmental. Maybe so, but, maybe it's being a Judger to label these people as so before taking a deeper look. If you were driving on the Highway with an extreme Judger for a passenger in America, They would very likely become frustrated at you for not going the quickest way to your destination (not realizing you had other motives for your choice of route, like getting gas, and not bothering to "ask" before they let it "bother" them) and driving in the left, or fast lane. (not "bothering" to take the time to figure out that you were going to be turning left within the next quarter mile and getting stuck behind a wall of 3 semi's would potentially mess you up from taking your left turn) in short, a Judger doesn't bother to "ask" a lot of times before already making up their decision on a given topic.

The Perceiver is more open minded. they try not to pass judgment until they fully understand the situation at hand. they admittedly don't have all the answers. and though they're nicer to talk to at family reunions and they're not like that aunt everyone hates who always has to rip on the way so and so did such and such and "I just don't understand this" and "why do they do that" and "I can't believe they let their kids do that." They do have a drawback: Perceivers make a lot less mistakes when it comes to the correct way to handle a situation. . . Unless, the correct way to handle a situation is immediate action. While the Judger "already knows everything and has an unwavering opinion on what to do" and is a Mr. Know-it-all, who is out using his or her "knowledge" to deal with the situation, the Perceiver is still busy delving, learning, and making sure they can make the correct choice on all the given data. Perceivers are more prone to second guessing and making decisions is often quite and ordeal. On the other hand, you'd rarely ever see a Judger try to visit foreign lands and try to learn about new cultures. An extreme Perceiver would have so much trouble in on- the-spot decision making, and if they were in the legislative branch, laws would never get made because "every situation is unique"

This isn't the average "Oh, he's a warrior but he's a mage so blah blah blah" kind of RPG, or the "So-and-so is the Mysterious stranger who doesn't want companionship as he tackles his inner demons, while So-and-So is the peasant boy who wishes to leave his village to become a great warrior and make the passage on to manhood." These Characters were conceived and designed to be very deep, and in actuality my intention was to design them to be deep enough to be in a novel or book. I tried to avoid the usual archetypes as much as possible. If you see a resemblance to some character type that's been done a gagillion times before, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. My biggest goal for this game was Original Story and Original Characters, and that those Characters be in a way that you can relate to them. . . relate to their struggles, their fears, desires, and through that, that they would become not just RPG Characters, but real and inspiring to you all. Now before you start flaming me about the peasant boy archetypes and such, here me out, those archetypes can still be deep, but the more used and cliché and archetype becomes, the more your character gets confused with the other 80 questing peasant boys out there and soon what could have been deep is now shallow. My strategy is to create a person, my opinion is that the person and their outlook is the core of the character, and their stature, goals, and choice or approach to their profession are all derived from that core. So without any more of my rambling and soap-boxing, here are the Characters, I'll be adding more as I have time, there's a ton of them in this game, especially since I'm including some NPC's that I feel are important to the story but that identifying them here would not give to much of the plot away. Oh, and by the way in case you were wondering, all of the Characters here, Including King Ausrick, are not me, yet they are in a way all me, at least in part. For all of these Characters I took a look inside of myself and tried to base them on aspects of me and then I dressed them with the aspects of other people, individuals, and in many cases idioms, ideals, and philosophies. If after playing my game, you feel like you've realized something about human nature, the universe, philosophies and views, or you find symbolism, parallels, and meaning in this game, please, write an email or an essay about it. I'd be glad to post it here and I won't grade you on MLA Format. please Enjoy. :)
